Regulatory region/Enhencer: Enhencer is a regulatory element of a gene, they are short region 50-1500 bp long and may be located on the upstream or downstream of a gene that it regulates for expression.Enhencer dont acts on the region ona promoter but they bounded by activateed proteins that helps to increase the particular gene transcription. It founds in both prokaryotic and eukaryotic gene.
Promoter: To express a gene it requires a promoter sequence .Promoter is bound by transcription factors and RNA polymerase to initiate transcription of a gene.In prokaryotic gene its in the upstream of gene structure and its normally between -10 to -35 element.Promoter region has consensus sequence to start initiation , well established promoter create highly transcribe gene and less perfect promoter create weak transcribed gene.
Untranslated Region (UTR) : 3' UTR is found on the non coading section and 5' is found on the coading sequence of agene.Normally mRNA is formed to traslated protein as it is untranslated this part do not form protein without few exception in the 5' UTR. Within the 5' UTR the sequence is recognizes by ribosome and that allows the initiation of translation. 5' UTR of prokaryotes include Shine Dalgarno sequencewhich is 3 to 10 bp long (AGGAGGU) that initiates codon to start translation.
